Elizabeth Navarro, MA
Elizabeth Navarro is a master level counselor with 14 years of mental health experience primarily working with a marginalized population. She joined NEDFYS in November 2014. Elizabeth earned her undergraduate degree in 2004 from Northern Illinois University in Psychology and a minor in Social Work. She later received a Master of Arts in Forensic Psychology from the Chicago School of Professional Psychology in 2006. She has worked in an inpatient and outpatient setting, and she has provided mental health services in the community. Elizabeth has worked with a diverse population ranging from children to adolescents then onto adults. She has worked in substance abuse treatment, early childhood prevention and intervention, assessment for risk of harm, crisis work, and advocacy. She has provided individual and family counseling, advocacy, forensic interviewing, and support to children whom have been abused. She provided treatment to adolescents in their school setting.
