Mariah Cox, MA

Police Social Worker

Prior to coming to NEDFYS, Mariah worked as a forensic therapist providing counseling to youth involved in the juvenile justice system and helping to find them fit to stand trial. She has been in the field for 5 years and has experience working in the inpatient, residential, partial hospitalization, and outpatient settings. Throughout her time in the field, she has been able to work with multiple populations to include eating disorders, child and adolescents, adults, and briefly with geriatrics. Mariah hopes to use her prior knowledge in a collaborative approach with the community partners to help to provide counseling, crisis intervention, resources, and psychoeducation to help clients better manage, understand, and reduce their symptoms in order for them to increase their motivation and feel better overall.

Fun fact: Mariah enjoys being in or near water and loves to travel to exciting new places.
