Rachel M. Menge is a licensed clinical social worker with over 8 years of clinical experience in diverse settings including inpatient and outpatient mental health treatment. Rachel attended Loyola University Chicago for both her Bachelor of Science in Psychology and Master of Social Work degrees. Prior to joining NEDFYS, Rachel lived in Michigan and was the Clinical Supervisor at a Detroit agency that serves American Indian/Alaska Native individuals, families, and other underserved populations. Rachel joined NEDFYS in December 2017. She provides clinical supervision/oversight and also sees clients for individual, family, and group therapy. Rachel considers herself a Cognitive Therapist (a type of therapy which teaches people how to change their unhelpful thinking and behavior to create enduring improvements in their mood and functioning) and has taken post-graduate training in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy through the Beck Institute. Rachel borrows from many other psychotherapeutic modalities, including: dialectical behavior therapy, mindfulness, and motivational interviewing as needed. Currently, Rachel is an Adjunct Professor of Social Work at a local University, where she teaches clinical practices. Rachel enjoys helping people become empowered through problem-solving and learning to build on the strengths they already possess. She looks forward to working with you!
