Bilingual Lead Therapist

Vanesa joined NEDFYS in March 2018. She provides bilingual/bicultural (English-Spanish) individual and family counseling using cognitive-based and behavioral-informed therapy. Vanesa focuses on case management of juveniles and adults while reducing risk and allocating community-based treatment resources. 

Previous work history includes working within multiple roles across Illinois Court Services and Juvenile Justice Departments focusing on case management of juvenile and adult populations while reducing risk and allocating community-based treatment resources. She also worked in rendering mental health advocacy for incarcerated youth and adults as well as facilitating counseling for at-risk and detained populations. Vanesa has over 6 years of experience working in the field of Mental Health as well as more than 9 years working in the field of Criminal Justice and Case Management, focusing on overall positive behavioral change.

Fun fact: She loves animals, especially German Shepherds!
