Yemilei has extensive experience working in the mental health field with diverse populations in multiple settings. Yemilie saw patients with mental health needs at Central DuPage Hospital in the emergency room and throughout the hospital for 7 years, and continues to see patients there today. She has also worked in the Stateville Prison mental health department doing crisis intervention, mental health evaluations, intakes, and referrals. At NEDFYS she works individually with all ages, but especially with youth.

Yemilie enjoys working with the Latino population and on issues of social justice and mental health. She began working as a medical interpreter for Presence Mercy in Aurora which sparked her interest in mental health. 

Fun Fact: Yemi lived in Venezuela until she was 24 years old where she taught first and second graders.
