Community Programs
Prevention Based Programs
The Prevention Department supports youth, families, and the community through programs that promote health and wellness. We partner with local organizations, schools, and coalitions to offer a mix of services—like after-school programs, community events, and awareness campaigns. Some of our work is focused on specific areas, while other programs reach across the county. Whether we’re working directly with young people or helping behind the scenes, our goal is to connect the community with tools and resources to stay happy, healthy, and informed.
Community Youth Services
Services underneath the Community Youth Services (CYS) program take place in Addison and Bloomingdale Township. Programming is targeted for youth ages 11 to 18.
School Wellness Pop-Ups
Supporting the Tier 1 efforts, NEDFYS hosts Wellness Pop-Ups during school lunch hours to introduce all students to topics like coping skills, healthy habits, and positive choices in a fun, approachable way. These drop-ins create space for students to learn, connect, and access helpful resources outside the classroom.
