Kanewsha Walker Amaro
Tri-Town Supervisor

Kanesha Walker Amaro is a Chicago native, born and raised on the North-West side of the city. She is the Tri-Town Supervisor and will work closely with interns gaining clinical experience by serving youth. Since 2017, Kanesha has worked with a variety of clients across a range of treatment issues including but not limited to: trauma, depression, social anxiety, generalized anxiety, substance use disorder, grief, and anger management. She has a passion for working with youth and young adults. 


Before joining NEDFYS Kanesha worked mostly with adolescents on the west-side of Chicago, utilizing theatre and other forms of expressive art for a therapeutic outlet. By using creative alternative methods to therapy she has witnessed the work destigmatize mental health in marginalized populations. She believes that as individuals we have power within our own narratives to create the change we want to see. 

Fun Fact:  In her free time, Drew loves to crochet, paint, go hiking, and spend time with her friends, family, and two dogs.
